Suitable for demanding pumping tasks in industrial and process environments
Air-operated diaphragm pumps are used wherever demanding fluids need to be pumped from A to B safely, in a controlled manner and in accordance with process requirements. They are particularly suitable for applications involving corrosive, abrasive, highly viscous or solids-laden liquids.
Thanks to a variety of materials and tailored series, a wide range of pumping tasks can be specifically designed to suit the medium, process requirements and operating environment. Typical fields of application include the chemical industry, surface technology, water treatment and the paint and lacquer industry.
How the air-operated diaphragm pump works
Air-operated diaphragm pumps convey liquids via two diaphragms that alternately generate suction and pressure phases. This pumping process is controlled by a pneumatic air control valve, which moves the diaphragms in synchronisation. While negative pressure is created in one chamber and the medium is drawn in, the second chamber simultaneously builds up pressure and continues to deliver the liquid.
Thanks to this oscillating delivery principle, compressed-air diaphragm pumps are particularly suitable for demanding fluids and process conditions. They are self-priming, safe to run dry and enable uniform delivery even with viscous, aggressive or solids-laden liquids.
Follow the pump cycle step by step and see how the medium is moved through the pump from priming to delivery.
