No. Explosion-proof motors from the ME series are supplied with a 5-metre connection cable and a protective earth plug as standard. This version was deliberately chosen because the 5-metre connection cable is sufficient in most applications to leave the explosion-hazardous area defined by the operator. Outside the Ex area, the motor can then be operated in accordance with standards via a protective contact plug, depending on the respective zone classification of the system.
